I'm Laurie, the founder of Hidden Springs Camping Retreat. For 10 years, my husband Nate and I traveled all across America for his job, living full-time in an RV. During our journeys, I had the opportunity to hike countless trails and see many beautiful and unique places to stay, I often found myself jumping on line to see what they were, more curious than interested in staying but i always found myself saying the same things: "How did they do that? or that was a neat one" When I decided to come off the road, I stopped asking "How do they do that?" and started figuring out how to do it . And I suppose it all started with a name. Hidden Springs got its name on a wet rainy day. It was a hot, dry day when we signed the papers, but we were ready to start exploring—bushwhacking, of course. I was excited because this is what I love to do: go exploring up hills and around rocks, all through the forest trying to find the creek.
I didn't think it could get any prettier, until the next day brought on the rains. Oh my, everything changed! What were once dry rock beds were now rushing streams, with water coming from every direction, filling up all the cracks. It was just a beautiful sight everything was a brighter green, tiny waterfalls everywhere I was standing in my own little fairytale after that I thought nothing more of it besides how pretty all these little springs were that came out of nowhere like they were just hiding waiting for the rain.
As we were heading into town, I was still mesmerized by how much the rains changed the landscape. The fog was dense, trees heavy with water and waterfalls everywhere, I can't believe I get to call this place home! Then we drove past the "Welcome to Heber Springs" sign, and that's when inspiration hit. It had been in front of me the whole day—all these beautiful springs that were hiding now came to life the name Heber made me think of hidden and out of nowhere my little fairytail got its name Hidden Springs.
From there, the idea of becoming a camping retreat was truly born and the play on words were like it was meant to be
